💻 How Does the Virtual Learning Environment Work?
Inspire Academy is a fully online school that combines live instruction, independent learning, and personalized support to help students succeed academically while learning from home.
👩🏫 Live Classes: Monday–Thursday
Students attend live, synchronous classes Monday through Thursday with their teacher and classmates. During these classes, students are expected to be present, engaged, and actively participating.
Teachers:
- 📚 Present new lessons and learning activities
- 👀 Monitor student engagement and progress
- 💬 Interact with students throughout the day
- 🙋 Answer questions and provide support
- 🌟 Encourage participation and academic growth
Students learn alongside their classmates, much like they would in a traditional classroom setting, while enjoying the flexibility of learning from home.
💻 School-Issued Technology
To support learning, students are provided with a school-issued laptop configured specifically for Inspire Academy.
These laptops include software that allows students to:
Safely access online learning resources
Participate in class activities and assignments
Stay connected to teachers and classmates
Meet state and school testing requirements
Allow teachers to provide guidance and academic support
The software also helps teachers monitor student progress, assist with time management, and support students in staying focused on their learning throughout the school day.
🏡 The Parent’s Role
Because students are learning from home, a responsible adult should be available on-site during the school day.
Parents and guardians play an important role by helping to:
Ensure students attend classes regularly
Provide a safe learning environment
Monitor student participation and engagement
Assist with technology issues when needed
Supervise recess, lunch, and break times
Supervise students whenever they are away from the camera
Parents are not expected to teach the lessons, but their support helps students remain successful and accountable throughout the day.
📘 Independent Work Days: Fridays
Fridays are typically designated as Independent Work Days.
On these days:
- 📝 Students complete assigned coursework independently.
- ✅ Attendance is based on the completion and submission of assigned work.
- ⏰ Families have greater flexibility in determining when work is completed.
- 📚 Students practice responsibility, organization, and time management skills.
Although teachers are not usually meeting live with the entire class on Fridays, students are still expected to complete all assigned work.
🎯 Personalized Support
Fridays also provide opportunities for teachers to offer additional support.
Teachers may use this time for:
- 👤 One-on-one tutoring
- 👥 Small-group instruction
- 📈 Academic interventions
- 🌟 Enrichment opportunities
- ✅ Individual student check-ins
These support sessions help ensure that students receive the personalized attention they need to continue growing and succeeding.
🤝 Learning Together
Inspire Academy combines the structure of a traditional school with the flexibility of online learning. Through live instruction, school-provided technology, parent partnership, and individualized support, students receive a well-rounded educational experience designed to help them thrive academically, socially, and spiritually. 📚✨
