Working Ahead

Are Students Able to Work Ahead and Finish Courses Early?

Inspire Academy operates similarly to a traditional school environment. Students learn together through live instruction, participate in class discussions and activities, and complete assignments alongside their classmates.

Because of this structure, assignments are generally paced throughout the school year and become available when students are scheduled to begin working on them. Students are not typically able to complete entire courses early.

📚 Learning Together

Students are expected to work on assignments during the class period in which they are assigned. This helps students:

  • Stay engaged with live instruction
  • Participate in class discussions and activities
  • Receive teacher support and feedback
  • Develop healthy learning routines
  • Build understanding alongside their classmates

For example:

✅ Math assignments should be completed during math class.

✅ Reading assignments should be completed during reading class.

❌ Students should not begin assignments for later classes earlier in the day.

❌ Students should not work on assignments from previous classes unless directed by the teacher.

⏰ What If a Student Finishes Early?

Some students may complete their work more quickly than others. When this happens, teachers may provide:

  • Independent reading opportunities
  • Educational enrichment activities
  • Personal interest projects
  • Skill practice activities
  • Additional learning challenges

Students may also have brief free-choice time between classes when appropriate.

🎯 Staying Focused on the Current Lesson

To achieve the greatest success, students should focus on the class that is currently being taught rather than working ahead in another subject. Remaining engaged during live instruction helps students:

  • Maintain attention and focus
  • Participate in class learning experiences
  • Ask questions when needed
  • Benefit from teacher explanations and demonstrations
  • Build stronger understanding of the material

Our Goal

Our goal is to create a learning environment where students progress together, receive support when needed, and fully engage in each subject as it is taught. By following the class schedule and staying actively involved during instruction, students are best positioned for success.
